Imara Initiative
We are a national membership organization that connects and strengthens local philanthropy in Uganda. We believe a strong non-profit sector helps communities overcome socio-economic deprivation affecting children, youth and women.

Our Programs
Child Welfare
We deliver direct, life-changing support to vulnerable children and their families across Uganda. Our holistic programs break the cycle of poverty and build resilient communities.
Youth Empowerment
Our Youth Empowerment Program equips young people aged 15–24 with the tools, mentorship, and skills needed to thrive in a changing world. We focus on building confidence, fostering leadership, and creating clear pathways to personal and professional success.
Women Empowerment
We provide the tools women need to improve their immediate living conditions, financial security, and daily well-being, while also challenging social norms to change how women are valued, ensuring lasting equality and systemic change.
